According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, only five cents of every healthcare dollar spent in the United States is expended on prevention, while about 95 cents are spent on treatment. At the same time, more than 75% of our health care costs stem from preventable chronic conditions. The conclusion is clear – our country could be more successful at reducing healthcare costs by stressing disease prevention and health promotion. And that’s just what we do.
